Sheila Singam began working life as a Mathematics teacher. Wanting a change after more than a decade of teaching, she moved into the field of real estate sales with the Reapfield Group of Companies, where she was subsequently appointed Recruitment and Training Manager. Here, she developed the recruitment and sales training programme for real estate negotiators.
Sheila’s love for writing led her into the field of journalism. She worked in The Sun, The New Straits Times and The Edge over a 10-year period, and in the process, honed her communication skills, garnered knowledge on various industries and interviewed a number of well-known personalities, including former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir Mohamad.
She left the media to join the training arm of Scicom (MSC) Bhd, a prominent Malaysian public-listed business process outsourcing company where, as Senior Consultant, she developed a gamut of corporate training programmes incorporating NLP principles, which were readily accepted and embraced by the delegates she coached and trained.
She moved from Scicom to international professional development consultancy VIA Group, where she designed and conducted professional development programmes on leadership, coaching, communication, change management, motivation, media relations, team building and a host of other areas related to the corporate sector.
She subsequently set up her own professional development and communications vehicle, Human Equation Sdn Bhd, with the objective of imparting emotional and spiritual intelligence skills to corporations looking to maximise the potential of their workforce.
